The European Commission has launched a Call for Evidence on the European strategy for housing construction with a deadline on 18 September 2025. The objective of the European strategy for housing construction is to support the construction sector so that it can effectively contribute to closing the gap between housing supply and demand. 

The strategy sets out the current situation, outlines the main gaps faced by the construction supply sector, and proposes a set of measures to facilitate and increase the productivity and competitiveness of the construction sector.
